About Us

Redco NZ Limited is a Tauranga-based consulting engineering company that has grown out of the practice of Graham N. Rundle Professional Engineer Ltd.

We used to call ourselves Rundle Engineering Design Consultants - which was quite a mouthful - so we abbreviated it to 'Redco'.

he name is seen as being a bit modern and radical when associated with the honourable but supposedly staid profession of consulting engineers. But that's what Redco is: a bit more modern and radical than your usual firm of consulting engineers.

Providing the services of Chartered Professional Engineers

Our Principal, Graham Rundle, is a Chartered Professional Engineer and all formal engineering documents produced by Redco are signed off by Graham.

Our other professional engineers are also either registered or are working towards their Chartered status.

Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status is the quality mark of current competence for professional engineers in New Zealand and is protected by statute. To be registered as a CPEng a professional engineer must have undertaken an assessment of competence by the Registration Authority within the last five years, is bound by the CPEng Code of Ethical Conduct, and has to maintain his or her professional competence.

Redco is all about giving their clients an ingenious, cost-effective solution for their building projects as committed to in our Mission Statement.

The company operates from modern offices at 470 Otumoetai Road, Tauranga, and employs five professional engineers and four CAD draughtspersons, including two fire engineers, as well as office support staff. The office is well appointed with fully-networked computer facilities for analysis, draughting and general office duties.

Our Quality management system was assessed and recognised by Telarc as meeting the requirements of the international Standard - ISO 9001 in 2008. Refer to our Quality Policy.

Annual audits by Telarc since then have demonstrated our continued commitment to quality, productivity and customer satisfaction.

Environmental commitment - ISO 14001

Our Environmental management system was assessed and recognised by Telarc as meeting the requirements of the international Standard - ISO 9001 in 2010.

Redco committed to the EnviroSmart programme in 2006 and progressed from a Bronze Enviro-Mark through Silver, Gold, and Diamond to Platinum Enviro-Mark in 2009. This grounding enabled us to graduate to the ISO 14001 Standard in 2010. Refer also to our Environmental Policy.

As a general civil and structural consulting engineering company, we have a wide range of projects on our books, from small residential additions and alterations through to multi-storey apartment blocks, with numerous commercial, industrial, horticultural and educational developments in between.

In addition to the general practice, the company specialises in:

• The design of insulated sandwich panel buildings for the Kiwifruit, Meat, Fish, Dairy, Wine and Food Processing Industries.
• Light steel frame houses and other buildings
• AAC (Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) buildings
• Multi-storey structural steel frames
